Prosus spends almost €80m buying back its own shares

An investment holding company can put money into its businesses or buy back its own shares. Prosus continues to allocate capital to the latter.

In its weekly update published on 6 October, the group reported purchasing 2,239,784 Prosus shares between 28 September and 2 October 2026. Total consideration was €79.84m, at a stated average price of €35.6461 a share.

The purchases form part of the programme launched on 27 June 2022, which covers both Prosus and Naspers share repurchases. The amount reported here relates solely to that week’s purchases of Prosus shares.

For shareholders, the useful measure is how much capital goes into the programme over time. This week adds another observation. The announcement details completed purchases within the open-ended programme.
