Prosus: Just Eat Takeaway returns to growth as investment increases

After acquiring Just Eat Takeaway, Prosus is seeing orders grow again. Turning that recovery into profitability is the next step.

In his 8 October 2026 letter, Fabricio Bloisi reported year-on-year order growth at JET in September, following 55 months of decline. Orders were still falling 9% when Prosus took control in December 2025.

JET connects consumers with restaurants and couriers. Prosus's acquisition offer valued all its shares at €4.1bn. That figure shows the scale of the holding company's European investment, rather than the subsidiary's current valuation.

ORDERS

An early sign of recovery

Growth resumes

Prosus does not disclose the exact September growth rate.

PROFITABILITY

A deliberate trade-off

Higher investment

Bloisi says the group is prioritising the development of JET and iFood, affecting short-term profitability.

CASH FLOW

The next measure to watch

Not quantified

The letter does not disclose incremental cash flow from the recovery.

For Prosus shareholders, order volumes show the direction of activity. Margins and cash flow will reveal what that growth earns on the capital invested. Management describes an encouraging operating milestone, while the economic outcome remains unquantified.
